Radiator fans not turning on
I've changed the temp sending unit, the temp sensor and the relay.. The car is overheating. Any suggestions?

are you really over heating. i would start the car with the radiator cap off and let it warm up and watch the gauge. if it creeps up high and your antifreez is not really boiling over then your cluster gauge is prob jacked up. i had the same issue. it read super hot but i could still stick my finger in my antifreez

jen36 you're right... I had the car Idling with the cap off... never boiled over, but the gauge read hot..

I noticed two things when I took it out for a drive a few minutes ago..

It was reading normal, I tuned on my headlights and the gauge jumped up towards hot, immediately, when I pulled into the driveway, I had my foot on the brake, shut the car off and the needle climbed all the way to H.... let my foot off the brake and it went down all the way. I must have some sort of electrical problem.

any suggestions?

Sounds like a faulty gauge. If it's bad, who knows how it might react to slight voltage changes induced but variations in the car's function?

Wiring doesn't typically go bad by itself. Fortunately you can score a new temp gauge for free at the junkyard (if they let you go in) because they are small enough to toss in the tool box if you buy a few other parts! Shhh.. otherwise I'm not sure they are too cheap.

if worse comes to worse wire in a toggle switch man, atleast until u figure out the problem..

Could be the sensor itself, or a bad ground. If you turn the A/C on, the fans should come on. I'd let it sit for a while to see if they ever come on, or just get an aftermarket gauge.

Hold on, clear this up for me =p

Your fans do not work? Or you just thought they were not working because your gauge said you were overheating, and they weren't on at that time?
