Removing Knock Senosor Connector
Has anyone done this before? I want to remove the wire from the connector without cutting it. The wire is frayed up right before the plastic connector piece. I just want to cut that small portion off and reuse a better section of that wire.

If anybody has done this please let me know how you got that plastic connector off.

I was trying to mess with it but I started chewing up the plastic so I stopped.

^^ I want to remove the plastic connector from the wire itself. I'm not trying to remove the connector from the sensor.

This is hard to explain without pics but sometime on those connectors there is 2 slots that you can stick a Needle into. If you can jam the needles into those slots and realese the locking tabs this should alow the wire to separate from the connector.

our cars don't use them for anything. So why bother. If you want a good reliable knock sensor buy an MSD knock light.

Ohrly? I was under the impression the ECU needed them to retard timing in the case of knock. Is this not right?

JWT and calum ECUs disable the knock sensor because it makes it too unpredictable to tune.

Ah I see, but on the stock ECU you want it no? Otherwise it will run in limp mode?
