Can I move/remove this?
Trying to clean up my bay. I know this is a filter, but does anyone know a way I can move or remove it safely? I could always just try to run a hose between it and the block were the hard line is, but I'd rather do away with it somehow.

I just use a straight hose.

Don't remove it, it serves a high purpose. I replaced mine with a regular straight hose and had high oily blow by.

After studying the FSM diagrams it seems like the blow by comes up from the oil sump/block. This catch can stops the oils and lets the air only go up into the VC T, then to the intake.

By removing the catch can, it will let the oil and the gasses go up into the VC T, then straight into your intake to make a nice and oily intake piping/manifold.

VE's have the oil catch can built into the VC. Same goes for RR's. If you get yourself an RR VC or VE VC then you don't have to have that catch can.

Yep, I know. However, I plan to do 1 of two things:

1) Move it someplace down low inconspicuous and run hoses from the hard lines

2) Remove it and find a decent way to vent the blow-by

I think moving it would be better than removing it. No need to spew more emissions than necessary just to get rid of this one box. I'll bet I can find someplace to hide it and just do a good tubing job. It might be possible to replace it with something smaller too. Not sure what type of filter it is, but I'd bet it can be done.

Just realized that if I simply move it and run the connection hose to block I can just vent the outlet since my crankcase is totally vented anyways. Won't be any more emissive than I am now but I could ditch the hose across the VC.
