And swiss your correct I've read that also and that's why I'm not taking a chance this time and actually getting them.

I talked to the guy at competition and he said they say it's a 90 day warranty but if it's a real part failure they'll warranty it no matter how long it's been. That's why I was thinking them.

can you refer to a few links that back up clutchnet as being a bad rep? vad reps them and uses it and says he has no issues, PRICE is obviously a issue to the OP so i mean he cant go out and buy top notch, not saying you are wrong, but still can we get some links to some of the problems of clutchnet, or personal expierence?

Vad reps them, uses them, and has had no issues YET. I did the same thing at first with clutchnet. I lived with the super embarrasing moans the clutches made. I lived with the super chatter. I lived with it all. Then I orderd another Clutchnet clutch and it fell apart. Then I had to deal with there customer service. Now I will never ever deal with them ever again.

So clutchmasters sounds good and competition does also. Only thing is you can't just buy a clutchmasters disk I don't think. I'm going competition just because 1 they support the forums 2 they seem like they will help out as much as possible in ****ty situations.

The thing about clutchnet is that you would think that if the Disc failed like that then they would replace it free of charge at the least. These ****ers only offered me $15 off my next clutch purchase. WTF kinda customer service is that??

From the sounds of it just about all clutch companies suck. Maybe the people that are repping them down put too much power on them, or shifted badly and down shifted without revmatching?

I sure as heck don't want my Clutchnet clutch to go, but if it does then I don't know what company to go with.

My old Exedy was exceptional, it's basically OEM quality, but they only offer a 3 puck clutch for who knows how little amount of power.

Here is what made me buy a Clutchnet... Clutch 101

CLUTCHNET
Located in El Monte, CA, it's owned by a Russian family and has been in business for 40 years. They are probably the biggest and best aftermarket disc manufacturer. They make discs for everything from Audi to VW. Their pressure plates are Valeo brand units which I don't like. Also their friction pads are too soft and will eat your flywheel and pressure plate.

ACT
Located in Palmdale, CA. ACT is also known as Kennedy Engineering Products. They make awesome pressure plates (they manufacture their own). Nice and stiff but the friction pads they use on their pucks are too aggressive and chatter and disintegrate and eat up your flywheel and pressure plate. They are also actively involved in import drag racing and have a booth at every Battle of the Imports in Palmdale.

clutches are one of thoser things that are very subjective. driving styles, shift patterns, how they engauge the clutch, how much power they put to it ect, and then when it fails other ppl might not have the same issues they had with them becuase of those particular reason...if i have a clutch that can hold 350whp and put 700 to it i cant give them a bad rep that it didnt hold when i overpower it.

to be honest the clutch master is really expensive for just the disk, you might as well buy a whole kit from them, i think i paid like 350.00 for the carobn kevlar disc for my b16, and i rememer buying another clutchmasters clutch from a private buyer for like 200.00 so they are rather expensive for just the disc, i remember thinking the PP would cost more than the disc but not so much the case with CM
