Meziere electric water pump talk
Who has this done and have you had any problems?
I want to do this to my car but have questions and all the threads are confusing
Do you first take out the thermostat or just drill holes into it?
you can run the pump the entire time the car is on right?
I just snapped a bolt into my stock water pump pulley trying to fit a freaking belt on after i got rid of the power steering, the motor is out and id rather figure it out while the motor is out
please let me know

Thanks for the info man.
any other peoples?
i th ink the install is pretty straight forward, take out the old water pump and put this plate there(nice looking by the way lol)
cut the lower radiator hose and install the pump there. take out the thermostat(dont know would like more info on what others have done)
wire the two wires, im guessing a power and a ground to a switch inside the cabin
turn it on before you turn the car on? and leave it while driving?
i dont run this car in the winter at all, i dont daily drive it, its more of a weekend or nice lil road trip car that should have about 350whp
any more info?

I have done it a couple times. I use the Davies Craig EWP20 pump controller unit. It runs the pump with a pulse to maintain temp, runs it full voltage for cooling and it will run on after shutdown till coolant temp comes down. It is a great controller and worth the money for sure (they ahve a couple options).

were you happy with the meziere though? right now money is sorta a option(but im still thinking ahead and id rather go with this than a stock water pump and pulley)

So a question for you guys have used it. Did you straight up take out the thermostat or did you drill holes in it?
if you drilled holes in it did you drill them on the outer circle(not the middle part) and how big were the holes?

like i told you, if you want your car to get up to full temp just drill out the little bypass pintle on the t-stat. Drill probably a 1/8" hole or so maybe a bit smaller to allow coolant to still flow that way it doesnt put a lot of stress on the pump. If you want your car to stay very cool then leave the t-stat out. The motor will still heat up good but probably not get to full operating temp unless your constantly on it for a good length of time.

Im using it on my car with no t-stat and even during the 115-120 deg temps outside we get here during the heat of the day my stock guage, the needle will barely get above the bottom line of the guage and just sit right about there and fluctuate a bit from just below the bottom line to just above the bottom line.

At night, ha, the guage just stays on the peg. I did it this way because i want to take away any chance of quick rising coolant temps under boost aiding towards detonation. I know not running the motor at full operating temp can increase wear over time on the motor but i think that is minimal. Ive yet to have any problems using the setup this way and im using a two core honda civic single wide radiator with one felxalite 1250 cfm fan. Nothing more. I love it because after a hot day i can shut the car down and have the key on to allow coolant to still cycle through the motor and be cooled by the fan. Great for track use.
