I have one of these to seperate the ball joint. Pickle forks screw up the boot.

Well this saga get deeper. I now have a stripped ball joint and have to fix the treads on it. This is really starting to piss me off.

Replace the balljoint. Shouldn't add that much more to your work...

I have no idea??? When i tried to thread the nut back on the threads from the ball joint were all fubar. I went to ace hardware and got a dye??? I think that's what its called. Put the dye on there, fixed the theads and threw everything back on. Other then the dust shield hitting the rotor everthing was peachy.

I know im going to have to replace the ball joint and axle soon( when i redo the whole suspension) so this will keep me on the road for now.

Whoa whoa man, slow down. You "fixed" the threads? What is this magical dye???

Just get a new ball joint. Not really cheap, but if you don't you're going to end up like my car clunking all over the place (mine needs both sides thanks to my hack job of separations for axle and hub swaps =/ ).

Trust me, just get a new one and get it over with. And you really don't want to be playing with bad threads on your suspension bolts. How good do you think it's going to be if that nut comes off?

The die is 14mm for 1.5 thread. The starter thread was a little jacked on his car but no where near time to get a new one. Chased it with the die and all was good in the world.
