Wes, you are absolutely correct and sum up my approach to all thing B13:

I have never truly left the scene at all. I still drive my B13, moreso lately than I have over the past year or so. We have a 2 car garage: my B13 gets one side, and Jennifer's Maxima gets the other.

My E46 BMW sits in the rain and weather while the B13 stays nice and dry. THAT should tell you how I feel towards the SE-R.

Thank you SO MUCH for the kind welcome back, one and all. Life threw me a curve ball this past year and a half, but I am stronger and a better man because of it.

Some details:
1. Julia is now 4 years old and the most beautiful girl in the world. Louis Laprad's daughter is a close second in my eyes (and I am obviously biased toward the home team). I'm sure Louis would reverse the order and we'd laugh our asses off about how gorgeous our girls are. And, rightfully so. Dads do that.
2. I began work on my pilot's license. I have had to suspend any further flying, but do intend on finishing in the coming year. Flying is pure magic and good for the soul.
3. I daily drive a E46 BMW. Which is the second version of God's Own Car that I have found thus far in my life. The first is my B13.
4. The B13 is undergoing a dose of Auto-RX (Auto-Rx Engine Cleaner Transmissions Motorcycles Stop Leaky Seals Oil Burning Increase MPG Better Gas Mileage Trouble Shifting ARX) to clean it out and get it ready for autocrossing, track days, and dragstrip runs next year. I am committed.

Just a little update. Thank you all so much for the kind words. I hope to be of some help/advice/assistance from here on out, to the best of my ability.

I clearly remember the day when I came across your original turbo se-r website while researching for a fun car to commute to work in, what an inspiration. Less than two years later I was commuting to work in my reliable daily driven turbo B13. Welcome back.

What model E46 do you have...I have been contemplating a 330 for some time now. Is it reliable and/or difficult to work on. People say things like that about BMWs but I feel most who say such things don't know what they are doing.

Thank you for the kind words.

I have a '04 BMW 330Ci with the ZHP package (pretty much an M3 minus God's Own Engine). It is a phenomenal car. The steering is unmatched by any car I have ever driven. That list includes M5s, E55s, Corvettes, etc.
They are VERY high-tech cars. Every system is connected to the other (the headlights know when the wipers are on. The brakes are heavenly. The two ECUs --one for engine, one for transmission-- are so far ahead of you as a driver that it isn't even funny. There are other ECUs, for bluetooth, etc.) and that means it takes a fair amount of knowledge to work on them.
HOWEVER...E46s are still cars in the purest sense. Everything that works on B13s and S13s works on E46s. But...you must be aware of all the communication that occurs between systems and take that into account.

I grin every time I turn the key in the E46, just like I do with the B13. Same result, just two very different ways of going about it.

An inline 6 at full wail is a beautiful thing to hear and behold.

Same thing with VVL in the SE-R.
