Competition CLUTCH .. PROBLEM/RESOLVED
Well a while back i had clutch issues.. it dealt with the ACT clutch that was put in the car 1 yr prior to me having the car... the springs popped out an the clutch grenaded itself... so in FEB.2 of 2009 i ordered a stage 1 clutch from COMPETITION clutches which i have dealt with in the past for my old b13's an what not.. i choose them because i had dealt with them before and i used there stage 1 on 2 of my b13s on over a period of 3 to 4 yrs..... the clutch was still good when i got rid of my last b13.... anyways.. so the ACT BLOWS OUT i get the stage one pictured below

... i ordered it feb2 installed it feb 5... last weekend i felt the same sympthoms i felt with the ACT clutch before the springs blew out... it got so bad on sunday that i could not drive it anymore... tueday i bring down the tranny.. and NO the springs didnt come out the the center of the disc was loose an destroying itself... the tiny springs inside the big springs did come out but the way the company makes the disc it is dam near impossible for the springs to come out... so i give a call to COMPETITION clutches an they connect me to a tech whom i will mention is a good dude for the fact that he helped alot and return time was insane..his name is ADAM KNIGHT he advised me to send it to him so i said i would i sent it to him overnight on thursday got to him on friday. i recieve a call from him stating that yes the clutch was faulty and that he would send out a better clutch for any inconvience to me.. he also advised that i rarely drive the car or dont drive the car due to the fact that the disc itself looked barely used.. he said that they sell the disc with a measurement of 8 and that the clutch i sent him was barely down to a 7.. MIND you i drive everyday... i dont race and i do punch it from now an then but never like a tard.. anyways this is what he send me in return
stage 2 carbon kevlar

all i can say is this.. COMPETITION CLUTCH IS A KICK ASS COMPANY i would do business an recommend them to you guys.. very good company.. and they are located in georgia 704 blacklawn rd for any of you conyers,ga FOLKS..

Ill be installin it this weekend maybe tomorrow if the rain dies down.. but.. seriously.. fuk ACT

p.s. reason i got it quick was because i overnighted it to him an included a airbill already filled out for sat to get to me... i work at fedex.

I think the comp clutch stuff is good, but a local shop has burned up some of these clutches and they won't hold power well. they had six pucks that lasted about 5 drag passes and even with a non-lsd trans they slipped.

Then there was the subaru pull-style clutch that wouldn't pull without the retainer letting the TOB let go.

I guess there are little problems with every clutch company around, but how they treat you when you have a problem is what is going to keep you coming back.

I have that Stage 2 from CC and love it. They are an awesome company, plus when you do order from them they send you a free t-shirt!

Bringing this back up. I'm about to purchase the stage 2. How's the pedal feel and how's it holding up for you guys?

Firm but nice. With a new clutch cable that is properly adjusted, feels good.
