Thread: couple quick questions

i have a b15 se with the sr20. im in the middle of doing a mock up of all the parts for my 5 speed swap. im wondering on two different things:

1. how does this spring attach? is it just like so? i have an idea of what its suppose to do, but the fsm or nissan fast doesnt specify unless im in the wrong spot looking.




2. what does this mean being imprinted into the bell housing of the trans?



3. has anyone used the GL-4 gear oil from napa? i want to make sure this trans has no problems or grinding before i put in a spanking new clutch and lightened flywheel, and dont want to waste 40 bucks on gear oil only to drain it in a month.

Any GL-4 fluid should be fine. We all use Redline, but I think there is some Penzoil stuff in a yellow bottle (marketed as GM specific) that should be cheap and just fine to use.

out of curiousity, does anyone know what that stamp on the inside means? whenever i see someone post up the inside of the housing, i dont see that stamp.
