Thread: ga16 to sr20det hardness question

im mid way on my swap now im sorta confused i have read all the ga16 to sr20 swap threads but it has not been clear of this, can i use the engine hardness that came with my u13 sr20det? to plug in to the underdash hardness of a regular sr20de. and when they say i gotta swap the under dash harness does it mean the whole hardness like pic below thanks

whatever year sentra you have get the same year sr20 harness. you do not have to change your dash harness at all. you can use the harness you have on your motor but i dont know what year harness that is because each year harness has small diffrences that would not work if installed in the wrong year car

from reading jens post about every single day on this matter I have to the assumption that you need the same exact year harness from the se-r. Also dont use the sr20det harness it causes you more of a headache. Make sure to get the usdm coolant sensors and get rid of the jdm ones on the water pipes by the passenger side.

i think im screwed then .. i believe i got a 92 sr20 harness and my car is a 93.. my engine is a ???? so time to start looking for a 93 engine hardness and not a underdash harness?.. a lot of other treads make it confusing saying u need to remove the underdash harness and replace it but i guess not

also i got pretty much everything from a 92 harness wise to like convert it to a 92 when i mean every thing i say all harness engine/underdash tech,everything

you can do it but it might be a pita

i rather look for a 93 harness if its gonna be a pita..

What the hell is a "hardness"? Im assuming you mean harness? 91-92 Sentras and 93 and 94 all have different harnesses. IIRC you could also use a harness out of a 93 G20.
