Thread: 1991 SE-R with door issues

I am new to this forum and please don't kill me if this is in the wrong place. I have a problem with my 91 classic SE-R. She has been in the family since she was brand new and now her drivers door will not open. It feels like there is tension on the handle but just will not budge. Has anybody come across this? Does anyone have an exploded view of the door? I appreciate anyone's feedback on this. Thanks!

The door is unlocked however there is a catch, literally. When you move the switch to the unlocked position, it does not want to stay, it wants to float back about half way to the lock position. Not sure what that is about but I have also tried to hold the key in the unlock position and open the door and that has not worked yet either.

Try spraying the cylinder where you put the key in with WD-40 and wait a minute or two. Then try again. You can also try getting in through the passenger side and opening it that way to see what it does on the inside. If all else fails, take it apart and make sure everything's lubed and the rods aren't bent. Good luck.
