Burned out clutch
Last night, a friend of mine burnt my clutch out since he wasn't used to my lighter flywheel. So he over revved it and pushed it out of first in about 4000 rpms. With the clutch halfway engaged.... So with that combo, my clutch is burnt to crisps.

Now here's my question. I had a Stage 1 clutch in there with an 8lbs. flywheel.

Is it alright to get an OEM clutch with my lighter flywheel? Or should I just another Stage 1 clutch?

Your friend burned out your clutch in 1 night of driving? It really depends on how much power your making and how big your pockets are.

Actually, reading around... I think my clutch isn't burnt out.

Here are my symptoms:

When depressing the clutch pedal, there is a lot of freeplay.

When trying to put it into gear with the clutch fully depressed, it refuses to let me put it in.

Could it be that my throwout bearing is broken?

I need to figure it out as soon as possible since this is my only DD. And I don't want to pull the tranny out, unless otherwise...

You can't get it into gear?
I think you probably broke the hub on the disk and a spring came out or a spring came out without breaking the hub.

Either way it's probably due to the heat that was caused by your friend's unfortunate event.

Don't let your friend drive anymore. They obviously don't know how.

The freeplay extends all the way to the floor. And yes, it is easy to get into gear when the car is off.

well if he has feel play all the way to the floor i dont think he should jump that far.

check your cable maybe it extended or snapped.. also check to see if the clutch lever moves when you press on the clutch maybe it broke.
