Great article, looking forward to see more mods and numbers.

BTW I really liked the DYI Exhaust, I would say the first muffler/resonator is a must just to help improve the exhaust tone

Very good stuff.Shows off what a guru you really are,Mike.
WE are fortunate to have a guy like you keeping our older engines in the game.

Have you ever considered selling a motor like this as a "drop in " setup.
Sorta like a built crate motor?

+1. Doesn't say how much the machine work cost. Any normal person getting that kind of work done at a local machine shop is going to pay big $$$$.

I agree. You spend $700 or so on pistons and rods and you think you are halfway there then you go to price out machine work and its like another $700. It adds up fast especially if you want to do it right.

That's true because one of those builds that Mike K did when he did the clover leaf design in the head, I asked 3 machine shop guys nobody wanted to touch it,everyone made up an excuse to why they could not do it. 1 of them told me that it would be big bucks to dupicate that build. It was $600 for the 3 angle valve job alone at 1 shop let's put it like that, and Mike had a 5 angle valve job done. I could definatley put a down payment on a house with Mike's build.
