starter possibly rubbing on flywheel - Bluebird
Hey everyone, I'm sorta new to this forum but I've been on Nicoclub a lot. I'm real big into the nissan stuff. Proud owner of 2 Nissans. a b13 and a b14. Both with SRs

The reason I posted here is for this. I have a b14 that I'm just finishing up a Bluebird swap in. I'm having an issue with my starter and flywheel. I'm thinking they're rubbing while the car is running. as if the starter is not retracting enough. There is a pretty nasty scratching noise as the car runs. I was told to put a pair of washers between the starter and the point where it bolts to to shim or back it out a little. For reference, I am using a Fidanza flywheel.
Has anyone ever had this issue? Is there anything different you might recommend to solve this?

Thanks guys!

So what would you say the actual problem is with the starter... it's definitely not a cranking issue, as it starts strong.
Possibly it's not retracting enough? Is that common on starters at all?
