Smelled fuel & saw wetness from here ( pic )
Not sure if it's common or what but the other day i filled up w/ gas all the way to the top and noticed fuel spilling, looked under my car and saw wetness from here ...

i'll have to look into it, just wondering if there is something common like a hose splitting or w/e,,,

Jamie's car had a rodent eat thru his hose between the neck and tank. Looked like rat teeth marks or Squirrel teeth marks. Other than that, I don't think I've seen many leak from around there. I know it can cause issues with the car being able to run, though.

well, i know it isn't in the tank w/e the hole is, reason i know this is because it only dribbles out whenever i fill up my car with gas, kinda like after the pump stops, pump like one more time.

Then i can smell and see fuel running out from where that hose meets the tank.

just wondering if there was anything common ( doubt it but was worth a shot ) ...

Now my next question would be how difficult would it be to drop the fuel tank?

Jamie's car was a B14, but he didn't have to drop the tank at all to replace the rubber hose between the neck and tank. I'm not sure if the same can be said for a B13. I could definitely see that hose dry-rotting though, causing the leak you mention when overfilling the tank.

yeah i saw where the hose meets the tank, i just wanted to drop the tank and make sure there wasn't a leak at a hose at the top of the tank.

Are there any other hoses above the tank? That one hose that goes from the filler tube to tank looks pretty easy to replace, i may just replace it to be safe.

91grayDET. My B13 started doing that. The rubber tube from the hole(where you put gas in) to the tank underneath the car has a cut in the tube. I smell gas all the time. I put some MIGHTY PUTTY on it still leaks and smells but not that much.

Have not gotten to the junkyard to find a replacement hose. My problem is part #17228M

yup 17228M is the hose you need most likely.
II have had 2 nx that this happenned.
Fill your car and pull it up on ramps or jack up the frot it will make it leak.
The problem is that the hose is samller on one end,so its easiest to get the Nissan Part...otherwise its hard to get a generic peice to fit.
Been there done that.

cool stuff man!!! That hose is available from Courtesy for like $26.00, i'll have to order a new one when i get paid this week.

And yes, when i park my car at work, it sits on an incline and thats when i smell fuel the most, i just hope no one decides to smoke around my car

this is common on p10's but never seen it on other chassis. So common that in 92 it was actually a recall and can be fixed at the dealer for free.

Yeah my last nx was all rusty, and the line was leaking.
I wondered why my gas mileage was so crappy.
One time I filled up,went in to pay.By the time I got back out to the car there was a puddle under the car that was like 3ft across
It stops leaking after the fuel pressure bleeds off,so I never really saw gas under the car.

Easy ,cheap fix that will last another 15 yrs,
