Thread: ecu maf signal wire voltage

i've been searching but havent found an answer, im trying to find what the maf signal wire voltage should be at with the maf unplug. Im having big problems i thought i had a shortage somewhere in between the ecu to the maf (signal wire) but i ran a new cable from the ecu to the maf and car still does the same thing i dont know if its normal, everytime i grab one end from the signal wire (wires are peeled of course) and then i make ground with my other hand the car will die instantly. So my question is, is this normal or do i have a bad ecu. I also just order a new maf thinking my other one was bad, my car drives normal but shuts off all of a sudden and sometimes its hard to turn it back on, its like its loosing the signal from the ecu, or i just have a bad mad im fed up with the car right now.
