Thread: Steering wheel vibration under acceleration!!!

ok, so today i went to get an alignment and everything feels nice and tight. but as soon as i left the place the vibrations began but they werent the same as the old ones. im getting new tires this friday, im sure this is totally unrelated to the previous vibration issue.

Make sure they check your wheels for out of round and wobble when the tire is off....

its definately a different type of vibration cuz it only does it between 60 and 70 mph, its really light though so im sure its just my bald badly worn tires needing replacement lol. but this is nothing like the vibration before. im sure now that my alignment is dialed in it made the little vibration come out.

this b15 tranny feels so damn nice. its so easy to go in gear.

quick update. i just put new azenis in the front and balanced them. vibration is now only between 25 to about 35 mph. no vibration at any other speed whether under load or not.

tomorrow i will be picking up some hubcentric rings for my advan's and then sometime this week i will order rear wheel bearings with the hubs and replace those as well. swapping out the tranny killed the vibration under load problem at all speeds but now i have a nagging little vibration between 25-35mph. i guess its all part of having an old car. bout time something gave out.

geez all that over a vibration...crazy isht...im just thankful mine comes from my horribly inner edge worn tires...other than that its this stupid clunk when i brake i cant figgure out but its probably a bad axle

little by little i am all over this freaking vibration. im gonna get rid of it if it kills me lol. your axle is probably bad though.

Like he said, could be axle, but it also could be loose front calipers. They only have one bolt (on top) so if it's loose, the caliper will just pivot on the bottom peg until it jams when you brake, and reset when you drive again.

UPDATE: the vibration problem is finally solved!!! it took a couple of grand but i solved the problem.

because i wanted a VE badly i decided to buy one and swap it in as an excuse to check all the mounts when my DE was out. good way to justify a VE swap right?

all the prothane mounts were just fine. after the swap the vibration still persisted. i got fed up with it and i had the car crushed.

just kidding, i ended up going to autozone and buying the driver side axle and got a Reman one with the weight in the center of it. i ended up buying the passenger side at kragen cuz autozone didnt have it. they also gave me one with the center weight/dampner on it.

Final Result: it was the damn axles all along. do not buy BRAND NEW "GCK" brand axles, they are complete crap! it took me months to figure out this problem but it was the axles all along. but hey, i got a VE and b15 tranny out of the whole deal lol. hope this helps anyone that has the same problem.
