i am having my boy GregV check on some axles to see if the OEM ones have that damper.

in any case, i still doubt that damper would cause my car to vibrate enough to make my trunk shake. we are talking about major vibration.

all OEM axles that came with our cars had the damper. Maybe nissan went cheap and if you order from dealer now it doesn't. But be sure when you car rolled off the assembly line it had the damper.

thats good ish to know. im gonna try and find a reman axle that has that damper. all the axles i have encountered out here dont have that damn damper. i already scheduled my rack and pinion to be replaced next tuesday and in the meanwhile i will try to get a axle with the damper to replace the new one thats in there.

i kinda want to do everything possible before i take down the tranny to install the b15 lsd one. if nothing else, i would hope its not the tranny so i can then install the b15 tranny when i do my VE swap. in any case, i just want to figure this $hit out!

what happens when you engine brake? Is there any hint of vibration then?

my B14 (216k miles) has been doing the exact same thing for the last 5 yrs or so. as in your case, i've replaced rack bushings, Raxle's, bearings, hubs, rotors, ball joints, tie rod ends, front sway bar end link bushings, lower control arms. i have NOT done the motor mounts. (es inserts in the dogbone/rear mounts). passenger side and tranny mounts are original.
still have the same symptoms as yours. only under acceleration/load will it vibrate.
2 yrs ago i took the car in to a mechanic shop for a diagnosis. they said "it must be internal to the tranny. i also have a b15 se tranny from GregV waiting to be swapped in for other reasons. good luck. hope this gets figured out.

damn we have the same symptoms. well im not leaving any stone unturned. im gonna replace everything till i figure this out cuz i know there other people out there with the same issue and all the posts on the old forum never have a resolution so i want to resolve this for everyone else who may have this problem. i have a strong suspicion that it is my LSD gone bad and if the steering rack doesnt fix it then my B15 tranny is going in and if that doesnt fix it then just SHOOT me lol.

my tranny by the way has 200k miles so i dont think the LSD being bad isnt too far out of the question.

no vibration at all when i brake, its only when i give it gas. unless i keep my foot at a constant rate of cruising speed, giving it any more gas makes the whole car vibrate like crazy. my steering wheel vibrates from right to left, my shift vibrates from right to left, i can see my front end move from right to left from the driver seat.

at this point im not driving it cuz it just might be too dangerous. the steering rack will be swapped out next tuesday but in the mean time this friday i will jack up the car and make sure all the mounts are in tact and everything is tight and where it should be.

ok, so i thought i would update everyone on the current status of this situation. so i just had the steering rack replaced and the problem still persists. the good thing is my steering is nice and tight, feels like a new car when i turn the steering wheel.

tomorrow the new 2002 B15 LSD tranny goes in so we will see if my initial suspicion of the LSD gone bad in my stock tranny was correct. i will update you guys tomorrow and i hope this is the final thing i need to replace.
