This is what I Don't want to see:
Google Adds on every square inch of the page, we know ads are a necessity, however if you place 10 adds on every quadrant of the page it becomes waay overkill. Like BigB also mentioned, Please no online dating adds, circuit city adds.. all that crap.

One thing that I've always loved about SR20forum.com is that it was very basic, user friendly.. not alot of fishing around for links, very easy navigation. I hope this site remains like that. Now, its like I can finally find specific links on sr20forum. I like the "Clean" look, easy to navigate. We like the feeling of being in the Mom and Pops corner store, not the "superstore"

I believe your ideas will rejuvenate the community though.

Mike, I can't remember the details but don't you own or have some say in SE-R.NET? Is it possible to hook back up and freshin up se-r.net again, i miss the old updates..it would be cool to bring the original website back to life.

I miss SE-R.NET too...damn.
If you could combine that approach and the approach we have right now, with a tasteful, unobtrusive ad layout scheme that brought mad green, that would be paradise for alot of us. This forum certainly deserves the best. I'm sure you feel that, too.

I'm looking at the Google public service ad up in the corner about donating to hurricane affected states-cool, no problem. I don't need an ad to help me find a girlfriend.

All that being said, I love your ideas Mike.
Checks and balances, everbody-let THAT be the focus. The idea worked for a good while in this country, until the Federal Reserve became a monstrous reality. There's a lesson there.
BTW what college DID you go to? Your spelling is atrocious! Joking, joking..
Godspeed little doodles!!

I am not sure about the direct legal status but I am one of the people who might own se-r.net right now. Larry Weeks owns the domian name but he would probably give it to me.

The thing is no one will help to update it. Many people have vollenteered to in the past but not one single person has ever stepped up to actualy help work on it when it came down to actualy doing something. It was sort of sad.

When we started NPM we didnt have time to do it anymore and it seemed like no one cared.

My idea for forum advertising are simple banner ads or google ads in the header and footer, you would hardly notice them. In other comunities where I am not as evolved with making parts like the EVO world (which is cool because everything is made for the EVO, you don't have to figure a single thing out) I often click on the banners to visit sites of EVO related companies to see what they make, its actualy handy.

I agree, ads all over the place sucks. I think ads that you have to click through to view content are lame as well. I really hate pop ups. I make it a point to never patronize companies that use those. Its almost as bad as telemarketers.

You know what i personally dont like Mike? Maybe its just me....but that idea that "import tuning" is a 'lifestyle'. Maybe its different out here compared to SoCal....but that whole, "i live import" stuff kills me. The asian women in latex, while is eye candy...i dont really like seeing in my magazines. i may be in the minority, but id rather read GRM than import tuner any day of the week. Content rich, splash pictures where it makes sense, no women pressing on the cars. Guess i should check myself

SE-R.net was my first resource for sr20 info. I would love to see it survive, but I know that hands are short for updating it. How would someone like me go about helping to update that site?

Well, I gave up even trying to give people access to the server to help because of the scores that said they would, not one single person ever did a single thing to help once they were given tasks. I still sincearly thank you for your offer but the lack of support to me shows how important it really was.

I think a better thing would be for people to tell me what they can do to improve the site, then I can get them doing it. If you vollenteer, its probably better to be given something you can and want to do vs being told what to do.

Mike, I'm curious, were you involved, whatsoever, in the sale of nissanforums? No disrespect, just asking.
