Thread: car wont rev pass 3k

so this afternoon i started my car trying to goto work, and before even i could rev my car 3k in first gear, it started to hesitate in every gear the car wont pass 3k, it feels like the car is bogging out and if i hold the gas at 2k the starts rev by it self to 2k to 2.5k n it keeps repeating.... what could cause the car not pass 3k???

Plug in your MAF sensor please. Must have come off, happens to mine occasionally.

thats what i thought to but i got a new z32 from a friend and still does the same problem

wiring, did you even check how you wired it. It is a maf problem if it wont go past 3k its a maf problem

im gonna check the wiring again tomorow, but the car was running yesterday.. ever since i upgraded to a gt2871r turbo, 550cc side feed injectors and a z32 maf my voltage on the AFC NEO has dropped to 11.2 all the way down to 9. something.....before i installed all these the voltage on the afc was 12.9 to 13.4.... could dat cause a problem wit a maf?

your maf prob wont get the right signal and di you change the settings on the neo to compensate for these changes you just made?

well i got the car dynoed after i installed the parts if thats what you mean by compensate for these changes....im stuck i dont know what to look for

so today i got to check the wires n everything around the maf sensor and everything seems fine... i also check the voltage on the maf it was like 11.89 volts and the signal wire was 1.5volts....

wires for maf on afc are either not making good contact or have disconnected... its all in the wiring for the maf/afc retrace steps..

this a quick fix.

suggest gettin new harness or one from a junkyard an buying a jumper harness for afc .. if u cant find the problem..

again MAFs dont go out just like that unless you purposly throw dynomite in it.
