Stranded away from home. HELP!!!
I am currently 45 miles away from home with a car that is not working...

I brought my car to my parents house yesterday to install a header/b-pipe. I got the header done today, and when I dropped the car to test drive it, no power. I had normal power in reverse, but it felt like it started in second gear, and would not shift. It does idle. If that was not bad enough, nothing on my gauge cluster is working. My power windows will not go up... Nothing.

What would cause a car to do this?

Cliffs:

Car- 98 200sx SE-R (automatic tranny). Just installed a header, and now:

-Car has no power in drive. It seems like it is starting in 2nd, and not shifting
-No instrumentation (tach/speedo/etc.)
-No power windows

-I can't find a blown fuse, and I am at a loss right now.

HELP IS NEEDED

did you accidentally mess with any grounds?

If all your fuses are good, then you could have either left a ground disconnected , or aggravated one.
try checking the ground cable on the thermostat housing...or check the battery cables for looseness/corrosion

also any other things you did to it ?

I am not sure if I broke a ground on the exhaust or not. Could this cause it? Also, I removed the EGR system.

wait, you said its an auto? No power in drive? Does it feel like it's stuck in only 3rd gear?

by any chance were you listeneing to the radio while installing the header?

check your battery voltage, it could also be the battery is bad

just for the hell of it, get it checked at Autozone , it won't be a hard thing to do and it gives you a starting point

The battery is fine. The radio was not on, and the car starts no problem. The headlights work, but none of the instumentation or other mentioned items. And yes, it feels like it is stuck in second/third.

Is there a trans computer?

You just said that you deleted EGR? Methinks to point to EGR system, then.

I would look for something you unpluged that might not have been a part of the egr.
