Bad Iacv/acc
i hope you guys can help me, my car is finally idleing normal theres one proble that i havent been able to figure out, when i unplug my maf the car instantly dies could this be cause by a bad iavc, the reason why im saying this if because when i unplug the brown cable going into the iacv nothing happens i dont see any difference in my idle.

Aside from that my car runs fine and has good idle, but then out of nowhwere my car shuts off while im driving or im just at idle, also when this happens its hard to turn it on it hesitaes really bad, but if i let it off for a few minutes the car will start back up normal

Its frustating because the car acts normal but lkie i said it sometimes shuts off all of a sudden and wont turn back on right away.

Hope you guys can help.

Also this is what i have checked or fixed.

replaced my spark plugs.

i checked voltage on my n60 maf and its 1.19 v
replace some old vacum lines
replace my distributor
check for unplugged sensors

IIRC your idle won't change when you unplug your iacv because of the aac will keep it at the right air - you have to go into idle base timing to see if things are awry with that.
correct me if i'm wrong.

also check your grounds.

so what youre saying is i have to get the ecu into timing mode and then unplug my iacv and see is theres a change in my idle?

I seem to remember reading on one of the base idle how to's a section on the aac mucking up but the guy didnt know it until he unplugged it in base idle, I think on g20.net.

truth be told - my wife's 01 sentra would randomly die if I ever shifted to neutral from drive - it was a maf issue in the end. Did you test the maf at the proper rpms? Hers had 4 tests - one key in not on, one idle, one at 2500 rpm and one at 4k rpm - 3/4 checked out, the 4th didnt, bad maf.

so can you help alittle what are the results suppose to be at for the maf to be good? i only checked the voltage.

key in =
idle=
2500 rpm=
4000 rpm =
