SIGNS OF A BAD MAF sensor
ok when my car is on and running and after i unplug the cable to the maf sensor it turns off, is this normal? shouldn't the car stay on and just have a bad idle?

would this mean i have a bad sensor?

yeah i dont know either, this is supposed to be the second maf in 3 months and its acting differently that the first time, first time it wouldnt rev past 3k and now its not staying on and idleing really bad. I dont want to think that its my ecu that its messed up, theres a problem either on the ecu's end or on the maf.

Test it. Make sure you ground it as per the se-r.net maf regrounding writeup, then read this:

DC scotty outlines how to test your maf. This way you know for sure.

shouldnt the car have a rought idle when unplugging the maf sensor instead of the car shutting off?

I've had both circumstances man, depends on if it's a combination of things or not, but I've had both happen to the same car under the same conditions, so not all the time will it just 'idle rough'
