replaced all motor mounts engine still bucks during shifting
So, I've replaced the trans mounts, rear mount near the fire wall, and trans mount. I have NOT replaced the pass side mount.

Now the engine still bucks under shifting, acceleration/deceleration.

What are the chances that pass side mount is the problem? Could it be the stabilizer bushing for the shift linkage?

Thanks.

Did you replace the dogbone on the front section of the crossmember? Depending if your pass side mount has never been replaced you need to replace it since it is a major player in how much excessive movement is causing your problem. Replace these two and you should be golden. Highly unlikely the stabilizer bushing would cause that much slop. I replaced the dogbone and rear crossmember mount with prothanes and replaced the main tranny mount and pass mount with OEM and the combo works perfect. No slop or bucking, shifting is much better, and vibration from the mounts is near stock in comfort.

Hmmmm... yeah the dog bone was replaced, with trans and the rear crossmember mount, I guess it'll be that side mount on the pass side.

THanks for the heads up!

side mounts on both my cars (99 P11 and 99 SE-L) were blown out. THey were in worse shape than my 91 B13 mounts!!! I highly suggest doing the passenger side mounts.

The crossmember that runs under the motor, from the subframe to the front of the car. That was my problem when my motor bucked. The 4 bolts that attach the crossmmber have rubber spacers on them. I replaced them with washers to compensate for the slack the rubber had.

The motor is SOLID now!

I used 4 5/8" washers per bolt, so 16 washers total.

2between the bolt and the crossmember and 2 between the crossmember and the car.

Try it out.

Passenger side mount is everything. Be prepared for the car to shake like an old washing machine when you replace that one.
