Thread: My car is a Subaru

...well certainly sound like one right now. For some reason it is misfiring and I I'm not sure what the fudge is going on.

It only misfires in lower RPMs, I'd say from 1k up to 3.5k then the motor sounds and runs like normal. I thought it might have been the MAF so I checked that and everything seems fine. Then I checked my spark plug wires and nothing is out of the ordinary. I'm stuck on this problem.

find which cylinder is misfiring by pulling the plug wires up one by one. Then go from there. more than likely its either a wire or an injector, if its kicking back on it might be a wire. But also check your injector wires to make sure they are in tact and tight meaning give each wire a little tug to make sure there is no broken wires inside. Happens alot on our cars.

Start with those.

My car sounded like this also not too long ago. It turned out to be the harness connector to the ecu was getting loose, tightened it up and solved the problem.

This just started after I clean the engine bay about 2 days ago. I'll pull all the wires and re-plug them in and then check my injector plugs as well.

Found out what it was....there was water in the 2nd cylinder spark plug hole. DOH!

how did water get in there?

Yeah sprayed it with that Gunk stuff and hosed it out. lol so yeah DUH danny.

Just got the water out and started her up now she running like a champ again.

turned out my problem was one of the fuel injecotr plugs wasnt on all the way..
glad u found ur problem tho

as soon as i read the title my first thought was, you washed your engine.
