Weird Noise with FASTBRAKE front brakes
I'm having issues (funny noises) with my front brakes after about 2,500 miles of quiet trouble free service. It is the 11" FASTBRAKE kit w/slotted rotors. This has just started and have not jacked the car up to see what is the problem, I'm trying to find people have the same kit as me for maybe suggestions.

#1 When applying the brakes you can hear the pads and slotted part of the rotor making contact if that make sense. And, rapidly over a short period of time has gotten louder and it seems like I can feel it slightly through the car/pedal.

#2 When stopped or stationary I can press on the brakes and hear noises from the calipers.

#3 The noise started on the passenger side first, but is now starting to show it's head on drivers side?

-So are the calipers dirty and need to be cleaned? Since they don't come with dust boots as stated in the kit.

-Have I installed/ done something wrong and it has been not shown up for 2,500 miles, and is coming to light. Right when I get all the bugs worked out to start taking it to road race/HPDS classes .

Welcome to the world of racing brakes. They make noise. Mine have been doing it for 5 years. I have the 11" kit with slotted rotors. They "swish" when I apply them lightly, and they "crunch" when I apply them while already at a stop. I can guess at the reasons, but that's what they do. No need to worry.

Yep, mine made the swishing and crunching noises as well.

Odd noises here also. I haven't thought about it for a while, I guess you just get used to it.

Thanks for all the replys!

Yes I have the crunching sound when stopped, why did all of the sudden it start after being quiet for so long? My only concern is when applying brakes in motion, they're not swishing as everyone says (I understand this with it being slotted rotors) but more of a crunch or slight sound of some sort, that feels like it's knicking/catching (very loud)the slotted sections of the rotors. Is anyone experiencing this or is this normal too.

Car is in garage and has not been driven since this problem showed up, and with fear of tearing up the front brakes. Once the summer arrives in Texas I lose all motivation to start working on any of my vehicles. It's hard enough just to change the oil and give them a wash. I'm far to lazy as well as being old and fat, really I just don't like to sweat.

This "creaking" sound what you are describing is the pistons getting pushed out and retracting under a slight angle. Which is caused by the pads being tapered.
Please remove your pads and put them back in upside down. So the outside pad now sits on the inside.
You can also measure the pad thickness, I bet one side of the pad is 0,020" or so thicker.
According to a Wilwood tech guy this could be caused by the rotors not sitting in the center of the caliper. So maybe you need some shims between the dogbone and the caliper to center it properly.

Thanks Freek,
I figured something was up with the pads, this makes total since now! I used all parts in the kit as described maybe I need to get some washers/shim to center caliper? Thanks again Freek
