Thread: Best air filter!

I know a lot of you use the JWT pop charger and I think those are K&N filters they use. I use an Apexi power intake and it is a lot like the POP charger because it also has a funnel design but it also keeps more dirt out than a K&N, tests have proven it. But K&N filters still do a good job keeping the dirt out just not as good as Apexi. But what I realy want to know is who makes the most power K&N or Apexi? I have seen tests done by NICO and MKIV forums where they tested these with other filters like HKS, and AEM and such and they were no comparison.

The reason I'm bringing this up is because a forum member dynoed and tuned with an Apexi filter on his VE and he could'nt make good power untill he switched to a Bloks filter. He said, "the Apexi filter was like a cork in the system." Also he was using a VE 3" maf. People said the Apexi filter had turbulance and messed up the MAF's readings.

I'd like to know if anyone has dynoed back to back with the Apexi and POP charger filters and what the results were. Thanks.

whoa lol the apexi filter priced at almost 400.00us...but good filter

Where did you get that price I found them for $65.00 never mind thats for the filter.The whole system goes for $200.00 or less.

that price on that site was in pounds, for every 1 pound its almost 2.00 us to 200lbs would be almost 400 dollars...you know prices are always inflaited

I found an Apexi filter for $74 shipped on ebay.

these filters arent as much as they are priced there on that site, but for some reason those are overseas pricing so who knows

I guess. There are only two tests I found that use these two filters and both test are using turbo cars. BTW when I dynoed my car I also ran rich. I dont know if thats the way the calum basic tune ecu is for the VE for safety or if the Apexi is to blame, I had to lower the fuel pressure 3.5 psi to get an "OK" AFR and it was still all over the place but at least it was'nt super rich anymore.
