You are going to need the wiring and ECU ... If you use the '93 setup , you will basically be removing the OBD2 and running it with the '93 ECU and wiring .. wont be hard , just take time to figure out what wires go where between the harness ...

Eventually I will be doing a 92 ish SE-R harness and ECU once I do a fuel cell in my '98 ... But thats a track only car ... Making yours street legal all depends on what emission testing you have ..... ( Not that removing the OBD2 is in any way legal at all !!

I for one can personally vouch that lowport engine plus the highport intake cam is a cheap, strong, stock combo.

Anything with some S4's, now that's a horse of another color.

No emissions where I live.

So basically, it would be easier to just drop my tranny and cam into her car is what you are saying. Correct?

I can put my header and Modine radiator in as well, right?

Here is the situation: My wife has an auto 99 SE-L. The tranny has been acting up lately, and I'm not really looking forward to buying another one. So her suggestion is to switch it over to a manual. (Which I tried to get her to buy in the first place.)

Now I have searched for a bit, but not sure if I found what I need. Here is what I would LIKE to do, to the extent possible:
I have a 92 SE-R, manual, and was thinking I could swap as much of the stuff over as possible, engine included.

So my main question: am I nuts? (purely retorical ) and is this possible? for some reason I can't quite find what I am looking for in Search.

your sane ive been dying to do this since so many of the auto- se-ls are clean.... talk to wayne his car was auto at one point an it is an se-l

Yes you can you can use your rad and header from the b13. Also you can use every part from your b13 to swap it to a manual. I used all b13 parts when I did my 5speed swap, all except for the clutch or brake pedal, I cant remember which. Leave the motor alone and just swap the highport cam, header, radiator, and go.

One last question then... how do I pull the bolts for the flywheel? I remember when I changed my tranny in my '92 the flywheel bolts looked more like torx bolts. Is there a special socket I need to go out and buy?

Oh, and the speed sensor should just bolt right in, no?

wow, I need to do a ton more research.
