'98 Intake Manifold to '95-'97 Intake manifold
I have a few questions for those that know more about emissions crap than I do. I have a 1998 200sx se-r that I am going to swap in thermoblock spacers.

Since Im going to pop off the intake manifold I have access to a pre '98 intake manifold that a fellow forum member has. Would my car have trouble running with the pre '98 manifold? As in hesitation, sputtering, codes all that crap.

For those of you that dont know, the 98-99 intake manifold has a bunch of egr crap on it.

Im running a OBD-II G20 ECU if that matters.

Thats funny that you ask this question vex because I was going to post a question asking if there is any benefits to switching to the 98 intake manifold maybe both questions could get answered in one thread.

Im not asking for benefits. I know the benefits..... Cleans up the engine bay and probably frees 1/2 whp. LOL Everything else is the same.

I did it, it's a pain. But it well worth not having all those vacuum lines. If your removing the EGR, just remove ALL the galleries and lines. Theres a thread Tekkie started, and I posted my process in there also. I'll see if i can find it.

Heres a pic of everything removed

VERY sorry I hadn't updated that thread and taken better pictures! Please feel free to PM/E-mail me if you have any questions regarding the removal of the 98+ intake manifold. It was actually very simple, so long as you have a 95~97 ECU.
