Which is lighter Aluminized or stainless steel?
Which one is lighter? I want to build or buy a exhaust and this is important to me. It sounds obvious but that may not be the correct answer.

Stainless is more dense than mild steel. Aluminized steel is mild steel dipped dipped in an aluminum silica material. I would say for the stainless would weight more.

If you want something light and you don't have the money for titanium, go with a stainless steel header or whatever to an aluminum exhaust.

I don't even know if my local muffler shop is even capable of this work. They struggled to make my 2.5 inch steel exhaust. In which I told them to put 3 inch and they argued and argued why not to make it. Fricking rookies.

I have to deal with that a bit, some people argued that 2.5" was an overkill for my inky dinky 2.0L

Yes I agree. I seen a high school course for $1300 with no certification but right now its a financial risk if it's not going into my car
