R12 to R134 adapters for a/c?
I was wondering where could i find adapters for my R12 system?

I want to empty it then fill with R134, but the service ports are different.

call up your local parts store. i remember seeing those adapters at work in the commercial office, since its illegal to sell it here in Wi without a license. (autozone)

Autozone and Advance sell the adaptors but you really need to completley vacuum the system.. Make sure it holds a vacuum... Then use that vacuum to pull the R134 back in. If you don't the old oil may still be there, and you are not going to be able to completely fill the system correctly.

^If the old oil and new oil mix, it is over!

my problem is that our a/c machine is r134, so i wouldn't be able to evacuate my system which still has r12 in it.

do i just crack open a line and let it out? then i could prolly use our machine to create a vacuum for i dunno like 10 mins. to get all the old sh1t out, then recharge with r134

^It's not that simple.

^Read this thread, that is still in progress.

The longer you can pull a vacuum the better... Literally. I have been told 24hr's plus.

And I know mixing them can cause the compressor to lock up but can't Ester mix with a little bit of mineral oil (R12)??

^You do that and eventually you will get black death in your system/compressor.
