Thread: Any good aftermarket NX radiators??

Hey,

So, instead of going w/a Koyo radiator for my b14, I was thinking of upgrading to an NX radiator to save space and money. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good aftermarket NX radiator that's the same core size as the stock NX one? Or can you only find them used?

Should I care? If it makes no difference and I can just get new hoses, then no.



Ya, I read his true NX rad thread, but it wasn't clear if anyone found a good aftermarket radiator.

most aftermarket radiators come with the 1 1/16" inlet and outlet. The SR uses a 1 3/8" inlet and outlet.

You can fit the 1 3/8 hoses over a 1.6L radiator hose and clamp it down and that will work if you have the smaller inlet and outlet sizes.

^I guess it depends on the person. There are a lot of 2.0L guys running the 1.6L diameter inlet/outlet on their cars. You can do what Coheed said and get away with it because I've done it before, but I would rather not have to sleeve my radiator. I purchased a KOYO part #r1977. I know the price is not the best for most people, but I love it and my temps stay low with it.

Is there an aftermarket radiator that is the same core size as the NX, but less expensive than the Koyo?? I don't want to get the Koyo because I may have space issues because it's so big, but the NX should fit w/no issues plus be better than my B14 radiator and sufficient for my needs w/good fans.

Has anyone ever tried to get one of those (tiny half size all-alum) rads the honduh guys use and use those flex radiator hoses from like jegs???

Maybe talk to bhowle about his radiator. Apparently the Pep Boys(?) generic radiator for the P10 G20 (automatic transmission) is twice as thick as most everything out there (except the Koyo obviously).

It was actually an Autozone radiator, but yeah its pretty thick- 1 1/16" core.
