Thread: axle is stuck in trans..

my pass side axle is stuck in the trans.. i had to pull the tranny out with it still in, i've tryed all kinds of stuff to get it out an nothins workin... any ideas suggestions.. last few times i've had it out its been a real pain in the ass..

The pass axle has no c-clip holding it in, it should come out relatively easily. If you have tried using a pry-bar and it is still not coming out, you have a larger issue. I know someone on here a few months back was having a similar problem, however I thought that was his driver-side. He ended up taking the tranny apart.

Sounds to me that you have a aftermarket axle that n is getting ready to twist off the axle spline inside of it.

wouldnt suprise me.. it was effing cheap.. i had this problem when i put the ve in.. but after a while we got it out, thought maybe it was a fluke.. got any good used ones for cheap?

and im gonna be pissed if i gotta take the tranny apart

All axles I sell are Nissan axles and they are rebuilt like new, so they cost $125 each.

No $250 for both plus shipping. Also at this time I only have driver side Nissan axles.

ok man, i will shop around, an make sure they're nissan... umm any suggestions as far as gettin it out.. me an 2 other big guys tryed our hardest.. an thats while it was out of the car.. it was a huge pain to drop the trans with that axle on without takin the cross member or exhaust out

well this might not work but if you can get something to pass through the other side and make it past that bar in the diff, you might be able to hit that with a BFH and get it out.

ya, but takin the trans apart gives me a chance to look at the gears an stuff.. that an i like takin stuff apart..


heres the drivers side axle.. i found the boot had ripped an when i when to pull it out this happend.. whats funny is it made no noise or anything lol..
