Tires Tires Tires
Well its that time of the year for tires. And I looking for something new in tread. Right now I have some no name brand tires that came with my rota's that are amazing tires but can't seem to find ANY info on them. They are called Runways. Lame I know. But damn.. both summer and wet... they stick like hell.

So I want some opinions on tires to look into once again. I am looking for an all season tire since I don't race the car. Wet traction is a plus and good to great tread ware. I would like something wider than a 205 for a 15" rim but there is only one choice. And I have used BF tires before and they make a 215-50-15. But honestly... they are to hard for my liking. And I would also like something beefy because I do plan on using some 5MM-15MM spacers soon.

I have heard about the Fuzion brand tire from Serban. But that's about it.

INFO APPRECIATED

Wet traction? Daily tires? Florida? Toyo T1R. Period. They make them in a 215/45/15 and weigh like 16 lbs each. I ran those on my RPFs when i did the trip to PA and then from PA to TX and back to FL about 2 years ago.

They are summer tires and have GREAT treadwear. They were my daily wheels until I retired my RPFs for track duty only and sold the tires. I have the Toyo T1Rs in a 195/50/15 on my daily B14 wheels. The monsoon weve been getting? yeah i dont hydroplane going 90+mph on 95 when im late for work. I AIM for puddles on the street so i can see if they hydroplane.

Stupid I know. But you know that im a crazy person.

Oh and theyre sticky too.

About the Fuzion tires I only have experience with the ZRi in a 205/50/15. Not worth it. They are cheap sure. But they were lame in the rain, dry traction sucks in transitions, but pretty good in a straight line from a stop. I put 2000 miles on them and got rid of them.

Got Yokohama AVS ES100 instead. The Yokos are pretty good in rain. 205/50/15 again is the size I tried. All around dry traction is great. Not alot of road noise. But your sound system is loud as hell anyway so thats not a concern.

my 2 cents.

I personally like the Brigestone Potenza series of tires. The handling was always consistent and they have always steped up to the task anytime I had to push my car on the street in wet or dry conditions. My opinion is only based on three tire companies I have tried though. Brigstone, falken, bfgoodrige. The next set I want to try are the yokohama brand the representative at tire rack recommended them to me. I will use those for summer performance tires though.

Azenis , even in water they perform good. Dry tho is where it is at with them.
I beat the crap out of them in GA at the track till i was making them spit rubbber , and drove them back still great till this day.

hankook rs2 on my ve car. Good wet and dry traction. Has a softer side wall than the azenis which makes them a good dd tire. My only issue is that you can't hear or feel them spin most of the time. btw both the azenis and rs2 are bigger than a 205 50 r15 they are closer to a 210mm.

the Azenis are real beefy and look as great as they perform for the $$

I run azenis on the se-r and Yokohama S drive on the G35 and they S drives are great , low noise great wet and dry traction

I live in Utah, so I usually get an all season tire. The BEST all-season tire I have ever had is the BFG traction TA. Amazing wet traction! Awesome in the occasional snow. They were my favorite, way better than the ASX kumho.

If you want a summer-only tire that will have decent tread wear, perhaps the BFG Gforce? A lot of my friends like them. I have the Gforce Sports on my car right now. Straight line is ok, but cornering is awesome. Not as good in wet as the Traction TA.

I love BFG tires. They are always consistent, and amazing bang for the buck. They also last the longest on my car, which is a plus when you have to pay $125/tire.

I used Fuzion HRi tires last year. They a just ok. Got all four for $200 so I can't complain. They did decent, but I could only manage a 2.3 60' at the track. I had to ride the clutch like a btich to get any traction.

Just remember, tires are cheap insurance. I can't tell you how many times the BFGs have save my front end from stupid people cutting me off. Get a good tire that will last and be sticky, it could save your car in the long run.

Very important insurance. The only thing that connects your car to the road. Dont skimp out or complain on price when it comes to tires.

BFG G-force sports. I love them on my car, they take quite a beating from me and do a pretty damn good job.

THe Yokohama AVS ES100's are amazing, but not sure they come in sizes you want anymore. THey replaced them with the Yoko AVS Sport series.
