For the fronts, I got just the bearings (press out old. press in new)
and the seals inner and outer.

the rears I got were an assembly. (knuckle & bearings) already together.

Got them from advanceautoparts.com

site is down for maint right now but Ill find the link for it later.

Wow, I had no idea these bearings had plastic ball races =o That doesn't seem so good!!

Got the same problem, will try some extreme methods tomorrow. I got my wheel bearings from Napa, they are all metal.

Still have to get the outer race out =( I'm pretty sure it is nearly impossible without a press. I might try to use my car as the press again unless I can find someone to go to the shop with me (stupid rules require 2 people to go).

And yes, the bearing races are definitely plastic though you can't tell from pics. I don't know why, probably someone paid a shop to replace it and they used some sh*tty cheap one =). I think knucklehub assy I got used for $90 with only 50k miles on it probably has higher quality OEM ones. Hope so! It's so much freaking quieter now it's unbelievable.

I imagine the plastic races were made because the balls take any thrust load because of their double arrangement and the races don't have to do much to contain the balls. But still, they can't last that long...

Start with the inner races. No wonder they were so loud! =O

Then the bearings. Hard to see in the crappy pics, but the ones in the left race are full of holes and crap (no surprise).

Is the hub still useable? I made a few small nicks here or there trying to get the godamn inner race off of the ****ing thing (WHAT A PITA). It looks alright to me, certainly nothing like a totaled one (THIS: http://www.sr20-forum.com/suspension/14853-what-bad-wheel-hub-looks-like.html).

**UPDATE**

Finally got the stupid outer race out of the knuckle this afternoon. It took a 4 foot lever on a huge gear ratio'd press at my school shop. I had to bounce on the damn thing with all my weight (175 lbs) too until it finally started to come out. That is a hell of a lot of force!! =O

Knuckle still looks great. Pics here are mostly just for fun / reference. Check out the scoring on the outer race compared to how it should look!

This might be a stupid question but do you guys grease your bearings with synthetic grease or do you just install the bearing as is and not add any additional grease.

You are supposed to add grease according to the FSM. I can't tell you how bearings come though as I haven't ordered any. I am still quite unclear on exactly WTF they send you since it seems to me their pictures include seals of some sort (as in you can't see the balls) which makes me think they are already packed with grease inside. But I know you have to buy seals as well, so ugh I have no f*cking idea. Things like this ought to be laid out more clearly...

Others who've posted in here should know though.

Weird cuz I bought synthetic grease when i went to replace my passenger side and the guy at the machine shop told me that I don't need to add additional grease but when I was reading on the old forum people who track their cars put synthetic grease and the bearings seem to last longer. I guess I'll put it on this time since I'll be replacing my driver side this weekend.

Need clearer pictures of the hub to see if it's reusable but it looks okay. I recently had to replace the hub and wheel bearings on the front. When I took the bearings out they fell apart like bread crumbs and they had worn a groove in the hub where the races are pressed on to the hub. Got a new OEM hub for $105 and bearings were about $30.

I got my bearings at Napa, they were the $60 ones. They don't seem to come with too much grease, thus I bought some extra.

Danja, your wheel hub looks fine, mine looks about the same. They are $100 a pop at Courtesy

Updated the pics. Check them out! Finally got the damn outer race out. Had to use a press, as even the weight of my car did not suffice to push it out. =)
