Yes a mold was made in Middletown CT, I don't know all the details but I guess the lips were coming out wrong because the mold wasn't a great design. This flaw in the design was confirmed by the guy in NC.
The lips needed to be refinished because of the crap initial quality. The guy that was doing the work in CT also does fiberglass etc. The guy in NC only does CF products and makes a lot of parts for Nascar per John. I guess he met the guy from NC at PRI trade show in FL.
The guy making the lips isn't returning John's calls and he hasn't got a chance to go down there yet. He still has John's 4-Fog bumper and 4 lips that he never refinished. That is why John got fed up and sent the work to NC.
Now the mold from CT is in NC with the guy John met at the PRI trade show. He thinks the mold isn't usefull in the slightest and a new one will need to be created. So he is working on that now and estimates it will be done in 2 weeks along with an initial lip. It will then take 2 weeks to produce everyones lips.
This is the jist of the conversation I had with John tonight. I know he isn't running off with our money. Now its just a waiting game, like we have been but its nice to have hope that they will eventually be done.
