Where does this washer go!?!
Here's the story. I took my 01' P11 LSD tranny apart to get the gears cryo'd. When I realized what a pain in the ass it was to take the gears out I put the tranny back together. When I was done putting the case on and reverse back together, this washer was left over.

There are 2 washers like this. The other one is about 1/8" thinner than this one and I know where it goes, on top of the gear stack. Where the hell does this washer go?? I have studied the write up on the old forum about disassembling a B15/P11 and still cannot figure it out. Please help me out.

That looks like a shim for the input shaft, very important.

That would be my guess too, except he says he already has that part...
This part is in addition to the input shaft shim.

Item # 23 in case breakdown? Kinda hard to tell if they should be dimensionally close, just from a picture. Wish I could help more, I haven't busted a tranny apart yet to play with it.

I'm thinking #63 in the second diagram, but you didn't take the gear stacks apart, so that's not really an answer...

That's why I went for the case breakdown, initially.

i have no idea about the part.

im in the process of rebuilding my p11 tranny, primarily the lsd, throwing a phantom grip on it.

i have used/still own a shot peened and cyro-treated b13 tranny.

being that the p11 gears are much bigger and more compact why did you decided to cyro it ?

more strength im guessing ?

stratton.

Sometimes they have a washer like that and a shim on the input shaft or at the gear stack ... Also big washers on the spider gears and sometimes with shims at the differential housing bearings .. .. Also a washer on the reverse sub gear ( #63 in the Gear stack photo ) ...

I'm thinking is has to be #23 from the first diagram. I'm going check first thing in the morning. I never took the gears out, but a bearing dropped down inside the tranny and in the process of getting it out, the LSD came out. I put the LSD back in but didn't have to take the gears out to do it. I wanted to cryo the gears because I plan on pushing close to 500whp and wanted to over kill the tranny. I know it will hold for a while but it's not like P11 trannys are unbreakable.
