Cleaning caked in gunk from Valve Cover
Anyone knows what works to remove the caked on gunk/sludge deep inside the valve cover of a motor that seemingly seriously overheated at some point?

Thanks man, but I'm not in the USA, so don't have access to any of those.

Right now I'm thinking HOT TANK at some engineering shop is the only way to ensure the chambers inside the VC are cleared from the gunk and deposits, but that would ruin the beautiful N1-copy candy red paint job it has.

I'd hate to loose a motor cause of some crap in the VC gets loose and glogs up an oil passage or something.

If you have a dishwasher you don't care about, throw it in there. I haven't tried it on a valve cover, but I've tried it on guns covered in cosmoline.

Our parts washer at work it basically hot water. I let v/c soak in there 15 mins, then I scrub, then soak again, then they're like new. Dishwasher is the same thing.
