Overheating
When I got home from work today my temp gauge wasn't quite at the H yet but was higher than usual. I popped the hood and could hear intense boiling noises from the reservoir. Also the fans weren't on, even if I set the ignition to ACC they still didn't kick on. For a non-mechanical person got any tips on what I could check?

Check your fuses.

If it's not the fuses, check the connections for your coolant temp sensor. (It's the two wire connector on the intake manifold, blue or red connector)

flush your whole cooling system. run distilled water with your coolant and water wetter. tap water is bad since it can leave deposits in the system blocking it.
Also test your thermostat by boiling it to see if it open.

If you have a reverse osmosis system in your house, you can use that as well. Distilled and RO Water end up with the same results. They just take different paths to get there. More times than not distillation isn't the best type of method to use either as its only as pure of water as the machine that is doing the purification. RO Water is just as readily available most times and can sometimes be even cheaper, which is why I throw that out there. I work for a water treatment company and the difference between distilled and RO question comes up alot.

When driving the temp is fine according to the dash gauge. It seems to be an airflow issue with the radiator. Both hoses were swollen when it was boiling so I'm thinking the thermostat is ok but I may just change it any way. I'll have to check all the fuses when I get home. Also a flush wouldn't hurt either.

if the fans are not kicking on it could be the fuze. there should be a small black box next to your battery with fuzes in it. there is a fan fuze there. check to see if its broken or cracked.

The fuse was blown, I replaced it and it blew again. I inspected the passenger side fan and it is warped somehow so the radiator is obstructing it from spinning. Damn more money into this hoopty that doesn't add hp.
