If you have a 1991 car with the carry-over B12 fuel pump you might be in trouble (no telling which 1991 cars have it). Otherwise you should be peachy. This was ironed out in the turbo section. This was the best theory anyway. Basically early on people said the stock fuel pump was not up to any boost, then a bunch of people came out of the wood work saying they've made 200+ WHP with no issues for years. Seemed to be the early fuel pumps were B12 units (or maybe GA units) and then the newer fuel pumps were better.

^Where did you hear about the B12 fuel pump being in some of the 91's? That's interesting if they did a roll over like that until mid production of 91???

^You can pull the pump in about 10 mintues are less. Run the car down to about 1/4 of a tank and take a pic of the pump and post up. Ben, would the fuel pump look the same? What about the fuel pump holder? Part #?

You could remove the rear seat, feed it +12v and catch the gasoline for 30 seconds. Calculate flow rate from that and compare to a known high flow stock unit that underwent the same test? *shrug*

I'll try to find the thread in the turbo section.

Reese, I have no idea if it will look different or not, or what it will look like. =(

I think this is the thread. http://www.sr20-forum.com/general-sr20/9453-people-saying-stock-fuel-pump-only-good-200hp.html

And here's Miko with the pertinent info in that thread: http://www.sr20-forum.com/general-sr20/9453-people-saying-stock-fuel-pump-only-good-200hp-3.html#post139786

That's where I remember getting my info from.

This is something that will just depend on the car and the pump. I have seen personally B14 pumps fail at 180whp. But I have also seen pumps handle over 250whp stock. It really is going to depend most on the condition of the pump.
