If your '91 NX is a NX2000 it should have the LSD trans. '92 G20 only had LSD in the G20T model ... If you dont care about LSD you could run the G20 trans. and a Non LSD Left axle .... Not sure on what Non LSD axle would work in an NX though .....Possibly a 98-99 B14 ..

I believe the 95-96 had the lsd trans in the T models. I don't think the other did.

5th gear pop out is from worn synchro's, yes you can tell by popping the case apart and looking at the brass looking rings between the gear sets, look at the second pic #4 of this link and you should understand what im talking about, if its bad the synchro teeth will be rounded causing a pop out

94-96 are the years that the G20Ts are made. These are the models witl LSD.

91-93 does not come with LSD.

G20T (touring models) are the only ones to have 5spd w/ LSD (1994-'96), all other G20 5spd are open dif.

a '92 G20 5spd is open dif. and I think you would have to make a hybrid axle to run that tranny in a NX...
Reasons:
1. all B13s and B14s 2.0L with 5spds all have LSD (NX2k, Sentra SE-R, and 200SX SE-R)
2. you can not use the G20 open dif. axle on the '92 G20 tranny as/is because the G20 wheel hub is larger, so it won't fit.
3. there is also a differnce of lengths w/ the axles (aleast this is the case with driver's side LSD axles with when comparing a P10 to a B13 axle)

It might be possible to run a G20 5spd open dif. axle but remove the G20 outer hub and replace it with the B13 outer hub, this is very easy

or you could try to find a B14 5spd which aren't prone to 5th gear popout.

Wrong. Sure, it can happen, but 99% of the time it's caused by the flex in the entire transmission casing and linkage. The synchros will be perfectly fine and you'll still get 5th gear pop-out. The flexing causes the selector fork to move the selector ring/collar up and away from the point of engagement. It pulls it away to the point where very little of the dog teeth are meshed and eventually the stress is too much for them and there's so little engagement that the gear "pops out" usually chipping away at the tips of the dog teeth while that happens. Repeat this cycle and maybe 1,000 miles later you'll be unable to engage 5th gear because so much of the dog teeth have been chipped away.

The fix for this is the new 5th gear with deeper/longer dog teeth. With the new gear the flexing isn't enough to create this problem and your 5th gear should last 300k+ miles no problem.

You're right about the teeth being ground down, but it won't be on the synchro, it will be on the 5th gear dog teeth and the selector ring dog teeth. The synchro will probably look (and should be) pristine.

so the long/deeper teeth were corrected on the '94 and up P10 B14 5spd trannies, correct? thats why there's no 5th gear popout associated with them?
