Thread: Random Knocking / Pinging / Smoking??? I'm really confused....

Soo... something weird is going on with my 93 1.6 B13.. The car runs great without any issues, idles and accelerates and drives smooth... Lately, sometimes out of no where it will blow a ton of blue smoke (oil) ... I noticed it yesterday when I was on the freeway, it will only lasts a few seconds.. Today, i was sitting at a light and then when i started to go I had this awful either pinging or knocking, really loud, and a ton of smoke (about 4 seconds)... then it all went away... I tried to recreate it by letting the car idle when i got home for a minute or so and drive it and everything was fine... This is soooo strange! Any ideas, at all??? Cause im really confused!

does it doit when its cold or warm or both?

oil goin through?... mmm ring, head gasket, plug oring or valve seal... don't really know... when's the last time you changed your gas filter?....

I've only noticed it when its fully warmed up. it does not overheat, all the maintenance has been done within this year. It's so weird because the car has no problems and very randomly it will smoke, yesterday was the first time i heard this awful noise when i was taking off at the light.... I think it was more pinging then like a rod knock... could it be loading up somehow?? I've never come across anything like this.
