I remember Calum saying that Lightning MAFs are pretty cheap brand new from Ford. They are also 90mm and support a ton of power.

I was trying to get more info about them actually. Couldn't find what year specifically .

Also would it be bad to have a MAF rated for 700whp and use it for way lower powered car?

with a maf you have about 5v to work with so if you want to support higher volume of air you lose resolution. so if you making under 250 whp i would imagine a lightning maf thats rated for 700 whp would not give you the optimal readings. it is better to get the right maf suited for your HP level to aid in drivability.

Thus causing my car to stall out and run like crap hehe.

Did you test them?

^This is true. I just changed my old MAF this weekend and my car pulls like a BULL with no hiccups to redline. I wonder how long it will last though with the age it has on it. I think the turbulence causes the MAF's with a lot of age to really act up and make the voltage go crazy. If your filter/MAF is not mounted good, it will make it worse.

^Did you check the voltage? How much you want for them if Vadim passes.

The Ford Lightning only pushes out 360hp.

I don't see exactly your point. If what you're saying is true, then a Ford Lightning (that isn't ALWAYS making 360hp) should run like crap in the lower rev ranges.

Bottom line:

Doesn't matter WHAT MAF you run. If you use the correct VQ map, it should run just fine.

The Ford Lightning supercharged maf is 700 whp and Cobra MAF is 350whp as per Miko's thread.

Oh wow, well if all else fails i'll just go that route.

You guys need to stop associating 700whp with what the truck actually RUNS. There's no way on God's green Earth, that a stock Lightning (rated at 360hp, not WHP), runs 700whp. So what if the maximum the MAF can take is 700whp? Has nothing to do with running it in your car. Just tells you what it will support you with, MAX.

I didn't mention anything about a Cobra, either
