Nismo afpr leaking vac. minor fix.
Ok, this my first one that i have bought, but i did a pressure test and it was leaking on the top bolt, so i took the screw out and put some teflon tape to stop that problem. Im wondering, most of you guys run these and are prob. experience some idleing problems because of this. I just wanted to put it out there, that when you buy a new nismo afpr unscrew the top bolt throw some teflon tape on and screw it back in so you won't experience this problem.

I have had 3 break on me and will never use them again. They are very delicate. If I ever get another fpr it will be a aeromotive only!

I have noticed that the nismo FPR is a delicate piece. Not meant to be beat on or adjusted every day. But I have not had any issues with mine. It works great, and I bought it used for like 40 bucks a few years ago.

Exactly like you said...."it's not meant to be beat on or adjusted everyday"

Its good for setting once or twice, but not when used alot.

Once or twice? then wtf is the point of getting an adjustable one if you can only adjust it once or twice. boy am i glad im running a zex kit and dont have to manually adjust the pressure everytime i want to spray.

im guessing the aeromotive is less fragile?

This thread is silly. I have mine on my car for over 10 years with no problems.

You guys need to trat the part correctly. I see guys over tighening them which causes alot of stress on them when it comes to loosening them. When you tighhten them all you need to do is snug it.

When you loosen it just have a ten on the nut and a 10 on the bolt to secure it.

I've gone back to a stock FPR, after two Nismo failures. Nothing to do with over-tightening as Dre suggests. It was just a piece of garbage. Maybe Dre's from 10 years ago was made with higher QA, but those of recent years surely aren't the greatest. If I decide to run 4bar again, it will be an aeromotive unit.

I discovered mine was bad after adjusting the fuel pressure to 4bar (CAREFULLY), and road testing. I found that the fuel pressure didn't increase as the vacuum decreased/boost increased. Matter of factly, the fuel pressure actually dropped around 5psi under load.

Put the stock FPR back in, and no issues since.

I didn't over tighten the unit. Then why does it leak vac under pressure, Ima go buy one more to see if it does it again.

Thats what happen to me and then I ended up with yet another broken one and it wasn't from over tightening.

I suggest using a stock fpr unless your running 4bar. All my turbo set-ups ran stock fpr's and I never had one fuel issue and the cars had perfect afr's

goodluck on whatever you decide

I like having the ability of raising the fuel pressure, even on 3 bar systems for safe tuning. I have had zero issues with mine so far, and I adjust it prob 4-5 times a season. So far it has been great, and you can't beat the price.
