Thread: Airbag Removal/Steering wheel

Anyone know if it is illegal to swap to an aftermarket steering wheel in Oregon. I can not seem to find anything that would help online. I know in some states it is and some it is not.

call your local government office or contact there website, I.E tax collection office might be able to tell you for sure.

The Oregon driver manual doesn't say anything about it being illegal to disable the airbags, or remove them. I would have to say it's your choice. Besides, Oregon doesn't do vehicle inspections to the extent where they are looking for airbags. The only inspection, that I know of, on privately owned vehicles is for emissions.
