Wow mine is just a $29 Cherry bomb from autozone...
Do you have a resonator?

Well with the catback system I felt the car gain some horses/torque. Plus free flowing is what all kids are doing

brent
It's a little too short, so I'm sure that contributes quite a bit...
Here is a pick of the resonator, I had to shorten it to fit the 99 cat...

I like coach's idea, that will make a big difference. And keep in mind the stock muffler only makes a 3-4hp difference with some bolt-ons,that is if you ever come across someone selling/throwing away the stock stuff.
I do have a major exhaust leak where the muffler is connected... I bought the turbo muffler to get rid of the huge glass pack, which would drive me nuts on the 24 hour trip I took last week.
I wanted to actually use the stock muffler, but it was thrown out, so never mind to that haha. I might be able to still get one but I don't think it's worth it considering how restrictive it most likely is.
The tip is sticking out a bit, I guess it could stick out a bit more...
Yesterday I read on SE-R.net that people also use Dynomat or something similar to block off the sound, I might just do that, but it adds a bit of weight.. 5lbs a square foot..
