Broken trans bolts...
Ok guys, got my 91 SE-R this week, guy had only had it a few months, and the previous owner had dropped in a stock low mileage SR20 after blowing up his boosted motor, Its got LSD and some nice goodies, He told me that he had found there only 1 bolt in the front trans mount, So I went and got some new bolts and was going to put them in today, Well on the way to work the 1 bolt left holding came out. So on lunch I drop the mount and find out the 2 other bolts are broken off in the trans. I tried a right angle cordless drill and some left hand bits, but evidently whoever broke the bolts had tried drilling them, and they werent drilled in the center so I didnt do much drilling, I just re-tapped the bottom hole and used a grade 8 bolt and lock washer to get me home, no clunking but I still am being very easy on it, Anyone got any ideas, cause Im sure if these bolts are broken off they are in there good. I love this car and want to fix little bs like this. Thanks for any thoughts

Your talking about where the bracket mounts to the motor? If so you will need to drill out and try tapping it to get either stock bolts in or if you have to go bigger.

Where the bolts go in the front side of the transmission on the driver side, I know I will have to end up tapping them, more concered if I will have to end up dropping the trans to do it, since this is my one and only daily driver while my truck is down. There is decent room, Maybe I could get it more straight on with a lift

I had a similar experience. My bolts broke off one by one without me realizing and eventually the last one broke free. I come to find out it's probably happened before as two of the bolt holes already had heli-coils in them. I couldn't get the recent broken bolt out of the last good hole so I ended up having to over drill it and heli-coil it. Looks like you're in the same boat. I don't have any advice other than that though. Sorry to hear about your troubles. =(
