doesn't "akebono" refer to a pad style rather?

no, akebono is a brand of brake pads, its what nissan is using now on the 370z in lieu of the brembos they previously used....as far as my mechanic says(not really my mechanic , a friends dad whos worked on some of the cars int he family) for japanese cars, akebono is the best...so far hes been right as far as longevity goes

I've used them on 2 p10's & currently using them on my Tacoma. For the price, they are great pads for street/Daily Driving but for track, they kinda wear fast but they handled business.

On both of my p10's I used the Akibonos with Brembo Blanks, not yet on my taco cuase I got hooked up with some new disks from Toyota.

Hawks & the Axxis pads are better but for regular street driving, the Akibonos are a hit, well for me atleast cause I've been buying these for the last 3/4 years with no problems, & havent gone back to OEM either.

thats good, i will be picking some of these up soon when i re do my brakes, i have some machined rotors layin around the garage ill be using, and just to let you know last time i did my brakes i used some cheap ass pads the local auto parts store had...usually they work great for daily driving with the occasional agressive stomp , but holy **** these things ****ING SUCK, ABSOLUTE CRAP

^^years ago, I was too cheap to buy Hawk's & OEM pads that I decided to buy some Pronto brand pads & yeah a few weeks later they just sucked & yeah I wrecked my 2nd Classic. To this day I still regret it...
