can't get this bolt in..
i orderd the bolt set from greg and i cant get that last bolt in... it just will not go.. i've tried with the bracket on and off.. it feels like it trys to catch.. then u goto put the wrench on there an nothin, seems like its stripped but i cant imagine how that could of happend, when i did the engine swap we couldnt get that bolt in either, so thats why i got the set from greg so i knew i had the right one for sure.. well it still wont go in, it worked fine with the DE.. i cant imagine what would cause this problem, could the tranny/engine be mis aligned some how.. all the other bolts went right in.. this is pissin me off i dont wanna baby my car just cause this 1 bolt.. anyone got any ideas / suggestions..

Take the bolt with you and go get a tap to run through the hole.It will tell you real quick if there are threads f-ed up,and fix them at the same time.

if it were the bottom bolt, i'd say just leave it out. (not the best solution but i seriously doubt it would cause any issues) but since it's holding that bracket, you definitely need it. as the others suggested, try chasing the threads with a stock sized tap first, and if that doesn't work, helicoil or keensert

That is a very intresting pic.

I see you forgot to put in the plate that goes between the motor and trans.

YA i did was havin a really hard time that day.. by the time i realized it the engine was in the car. u dont think that will hurt the engine/trans do ya ??

so ya i guess im gunna go try an get a tap an see if that works.. its not like we over tightend the bolt an stripped the whole thing, if anything i think my friend might of tried threadin a bolt it an it didnt catch right so it messed it up right there at the tip.. if i gotta take my tranny out im gonna be very upside down face..

Yeah, that's definitely going to matter, I would put it back in. For one, it helps to create a solid mating surface between the block and the transmission, and for two clearances of the input shaft, pilot bearing, pressure plate and most importantly flywheel may potentially be affected and you could cause unnecessary troubles for yourself.

super.. that means i gotta take the flywheel off too right?? the jokers down at the part store dont have the correct clutch alignment tool so i had to totaly eyeball puttin the clutch on.. so doin that again from under the car is going to really suck, oh ya btw is it super hard to remove the tranny while engines in car?? i was told it is a pain.. but i've seen a bunch of pics of others that have done it..
