Thread: electrical problem!!!!

well my alternator went sour. got a new/used one from the junkyard tested it at autozone and everything was working correctly. installed it worked fine for a while then my rpms jumped to 13k and stayed there. i have no signal to the radio/blower/dashlights/lighter and its not charging. i took my multi meter out i have power at the alterntor/radio but not the lighter maybe im checking it wrong. i have checked all the fuses and they are not blown... this alternator is off a g20 it fit perfectly. any help would be awesome.

Check or upgrade your grounds. Grounds can cause lots of problems.

well after looking everything over step-by-step with my brother we figured out that the main battery fuse was loose. i would sometimes get power sometimes not. pretty cool fix. i still got the new alternator which im planning to return tomorrow.
